Meet Dr. Jennifer Nielsen
Dr. Jennifer A. Nielsen is a Connecticut licensed psychologist and New York State certified school psychologist.
Prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Nielsen was a school psychologist for 10 years where she worked with a variety of children, parents, and teachers.
Her past experience includes working in diverse inpatient, outpatient, and day treatment settings in New York City. She treated clients at Mount Sinai Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, and Pace University's Counseling Center as well as in public school districts in Westchester County, NY.
Transparency, honesty and humility are the cornerstone values of Dr. Nielsen's practice. She maintains this by working closely with her clients and their families, and providing necessary validation for their feelings. Her approach is genuine, positive, supportive and empathetic, yet straightforward.
Dr. Nielsen earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at The University of Michigan and pursued School-Clinical Child Psychology at Pace University in New York City. She earned a post-graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis through The Pennsylvania State University and has also studied The Active Parenting Now series.
