Dr. Nielsen has worked with a variety of individuals throughout her career. Although focusing on supporting children and adolescents, she also provides additional assistance to their parents, family, and school staff. She firmly believes that educating and working with “primary stakeholders” in a direct and focused manner is key to improving communication, empathy, and progress.

 

Learning New Skills For Growth

Nothing is more important to parents than the physical health and happiness of their children.  Dr. Nielsen has worked with children and adolescents with a myriad of social, emotional and behavioral issues to teach feeling identification and expression, strengthen coping skills and increase feelings of self worth and efficacy.  This allows for better communication and improved attitude and behavior. Ultimately, the outcome is a secure, more relaxed child.  With nonjudgmental understanding, and real-life, practical techniques she helps families move forward together.

  • Parental Support Sessions/Consultation (without children)

  • Home Visits for Behavioral Observation, Support, and Planning

  • Dr. Nielsen is also happy to provide parenting consultation sessions in support of children with whom she does not work directly.
